FREE swimming schemes: important information   Over 60’s Free Swimming Due to the Government’s recent decision to withdraw the funding to offer free swimming across the Southampton City Council swimming pools, the free swimming scheme for customers aged 60 years and over will unfortunately cease from 31st July 2010.   As of the 1st August 2010 swimming for customers aged 60 years and over will be a chargeable activity at the published list prices.   Southampton City Council would l [ ... ]

Sportathon 2010: a success story! With 70 activities at 16 venues there was plenty of chance to burn off the calories during The 30 Minute Sportathon on Sunday June 27! The event was organised by Southampton City Council and sponsored by Southampton NHS Treatment Centre and Wave 105.

Nearly 2,000 people tried out the huge range of activities on offer, which included karate, ultimate frisbee, kayaking, canoeing, badminton, basketball and pilates and lots more! More than 250 people went on to [ ... ]
